Happy Aîd for Everyone :)

Hello Everyone,

Now tunisia is celebrating the "Aid" , it's just the first day of the new month after the sacred ramadan.

Everyone is celebrating this memorial day, old and young people , the kids are used to buy new clothes for this event and buy some little fire works, well a little dangerous but so fun to play with and some others prefer to visit relatives and enjoy the warm ambiance eating sweets and drinking juices.

It's always a pleasure to celebrate such a day, hapiness and joy is the only emotions that we can feel.

I wonder how tunisians living in japan are celebrating the Aid, do they keep up with the old traditions or they just try to combine their daily life in japan and their own tunisian "instinct".

“The Legacy of Carthage” exhibition ~A Journey Across the Mediterranean~

Tunisia, often referred to as the jewel box of the Mediterranean, is widely known for its picturesque labyrinth of white edifices in the old Islamic town of Medina to the endless sands of the Sahara desert. In this land, from ancient times, peoples and cultures confronted and integrated to create a unique heritage rich in diversity and individuality.
Two thousand and eight hundred years ago the Phoenicians founded the city of Carthage which became one of the most significant ports of trade for routes in the Mediterranean Sea. Thanks to the advanced knowledge of maritime trade, Carthage under the Phoenicians reached its zenith however conflict over superiority in Mediterranean trade led to fierce battles with Rome. History tells of the heroism of Hannibal and the ultimate tragedy that befell Carthage at the end of the Punic Wars. Miraculously, the glory of Carthage does not end here. Under the rule of the Romans, Carthage once again flourishes not only commercially but culturally. The city is reborn as one of the most refined and opulent cities in the Roman Empire. The intricate mosaics that adorned the city are just one of the many witnesses of an age of art and elegance.
“The Legacy of Carthage” exhibition will trace the legacy of Carthage from the Punic Era to the Romans through precious artworks on loan from the National Museums in Tunisia including a collection of mosaics reputed to be the finest in the world.

About 159 archeological pieces, mosaics, statues, ancient pottery, jewelry, will be presented in several Japanese cities, during one year and a half. They were more than 40.000 visitors at Sendai City Museum from June 12th to August 16th as the first venue.

It is my great pleasure to inform you that the Exhibition will be in Tokyo from October 3rd to 25th 2009, at Daimaru Museum.

Historical change in Japanese politics

The Japanese have voted overwhelmingly Sunday, August 30, 2009 in favor of the opposition centrist who promised to lead a more social after 54 years of conservative reign on the world's second largest economy.According to preliminary estimates released by the media, the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) would get between 298 and 329 seats on 480 of the Chamber of Deputies, inflicting a crushing defeat at the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP-right), the all - powerful conservative who reap only between 84 and 131 seats.Already majority in the Senate, thanks to the contribution of two other opposition parties, the Democrats will now have complete control over Parliament and the way clear to carry out their ambitious agenda of reforms.

The announcement of victory was greeted by an explosion of joy and thunderous applause at the electoral headquarters of DPJ in Tokyo-trendy district of Roppongi.Ambitious political agenda by voting for change, the Japanese also wanted to punish the excesses of the liberal policy pursued by the LDP in recent years, they believe responsible for the aggravation of social disparities, unemployment and insecurity. The President of the DPJ, Yukio Hatoyama, 62, who should be appointed prime minister by the new parliament within two weeks, has promised to pursue a policy of "serving people's lives, based on a generous program of allowances for pensioners, families and the poor.Partisan economic recovery in consumption, he also promised the partly free education, maternity grant and the abolition of tolls on motorways. The DPJ has amounted to 16.800 billion yen (125 billion euros) the annual cost of the program from 2012, it intends to finance by cutting the "waste" budget, as public works and subsidies unnecessary patronage regions, and reducing salaries.Rich heir to a long dynasty of politicians often compared to Kennedy, the future Prime Minister advocates a more independent Japan against the United States and geared more toward Asia, but call into question the 'strategic alliance with its U.S. ally.

Ramadan in Tunisia

All of Tunisia is now celebrating the famous religious event "Ramadan" known as the month of forgiveness and solidarity, the month that make our relationship with others grow stronger.

It's like a beautiful event to attend, a whole month to observe the daily life of the Tunisian society how it changes to a new rhythm. What characterize Ramadan the most isn't the fact of not eating or drinking during the daylight.

But the night life of Ramadan, is the sweetest thing, people who goes to cafés and other to mosque to attend a group of prayer, others who prefer staying at home with family in a warm ambiance watching TV or chatting about everything, it’s an event that must be seen especially in Tunisia which is the country of the meeting of the east and west.
